Why do Blackberry mobile (BB) become one of the most popular information communication technologies among Thai teenagers?”. This is because of its body and function and being fashionable.

The BB became popular among Thai teenagers two years ago and is still popular nowadays. Thai teenagers use the BB with each other in nearly every 10-step distance. Since the BB can function well with a computer, organizer equipment, and easily reach hi5 or facebook, it becomes so popular among Thai celebrities. Skinny Jeans and Sporty Shoes: Popular Fashion among Thai Male Teenagers by MR. PHICHET PRAKAYANURAT

In the eyes of teenagers, fashionable clothes show being chic and trendy. For Thai teenagers these days, there is nothing more popular than skinny jeans and a pair of sport shoes.

Skinny jeans became popular in Thai fashion three years ago and they are still hot among male teenagers at the moment. Wherever you go, you will see them wearing skinny jeans. The two places, “Siam Paragon” shopping center and “Jatujak” open-door market”, are known as meeting points and places for shopping. There, most teenagers look so cool and energetic in skinny jeans. This type of jeans is fit with the body. The more skinny the jeans are, the more stylish they look.

Sport shoes are also popular among Thai male teenagers. The most attractive brands of these sport shoes are Nike, Adidas, Puma, and Asics (especially Nike Dunk and Onitsuka Tiger by ASICS). The teenagers think they look sporty, casual and chic. With the light materials, the sport shoes make the teenagers feel comfortable in wearing them.

As sport shoes go best with skinny jeans, they become so popular in Thai fashion among male teenagers. This fashion makes the teenagers become trendy and causes others keep an eye on them.

Thai Greeting from Mr.Prapruet Rassameearamwong

If you are interested to learn about Thai culture, I will demonstrate Thai greeting. This symbolic gesture is manifested of being Thai people.

Thai greeting or wai is pronounced like the word “why”. Wai is a manner that has been passed from our generations.

It is normally used to express friendship and cordiality instead of a handshake, hug or kiss

like in western culture. The wai is also used as a means of saying sorry and thank you, or praying to the Lord Buddha. We do the wai for the one whom we respect or who is older than us.

The most important thing of wai is we should do it from our heart to express our sincerity.

The wai can easily be done by putting our palms together and rising them

to the chest level, then, bending our head to hands. If you are in Thailand,

you will see Thai people doing wai in their daily life. And if someone gives you the

wai, you have to do the wai them back. For me, I do the wai every day because this is my innate behavior. If I do not wai, everyone will not believe that I am Thai.

To sum up, wai is only one of Thai cultural aspects which is essential to learn

Showing wai makes us know each other. I believe that

no matter what happens in the world, wai cannot certainly be forgotten.

All Thai people preserve this beautiful manner like the world heritage. When

you come to Thailand do not forget to do the wai. Thai people will definitely

love you.

Thai Costume from Mr. PHICHET PRAKAYANURAT

Thailand is a country where there are many interesting

aspects of culture. I would like to show you a Thai costume which I find a valuable culture.

In the past , Thai men twisted and pulled the loincloth up tightly around the waist and their upper part of the body was naked. Thai women , on the other hand, wore a piece of cloth around their breasts and wore the same loincloth as a man. Due to the hot weather, Thai people did not wear too many clothes. During the King Rama V era, Thai costume had been changed. The great King Rama V realized that Thailand had to step forward to become a civilized country. Many European countries wanted Thailand to be their colony by claiming that the developing country should be colonized by the civilized country.

Apart from creatinging various innovation, King Rama V also launched a royal pattern , Raj pattern, a uniform for officials to wear in several ceremonies which was revealed by other countries that Thailand was then civilized. That time men wore shirts in their ordinary life. Up to now , Thai costume has been changed a great deal. Fashion from Western and other East- Asian cultures have played an important role in Thai costume. However, Thais cannot adopt all of them owing to the hot weather.

In conclusion , Thai costume is beautifully designed to fit with Thai environment which becomes a Thai heritage. This makes all Thais so proud of their cultural uniqueness.
